It's Almost Here!

Sunday afternoon—We're just putting the finishing touches on this year's Directory, and I'm really excited to get it out to you. This issue has been a huge amount of work, but it's been worth it! It's so gratifying to see people, readers and advertisers alike, take advantage of this great compilation we put out every year. (I think it's the compulsive shoppers who love it the MOST.)

Here's a preview of the cover. Of course, I've used all my own photographs. Because I can.

If you're a subscriber, your copy should arrive in about a week. If not, you can start looking for it in your usual haunts starting Friday. If your usual haunts are now closed for the winter, never fear. We bring copies of the Directory to all the big events in the region throughout the year. Or drop me a line via the site or by commenting here.

Help Wanted - Rochester Cvic Garden Center

The RCGC is looking to expand its staff with a part-time person:

Administrative Assistant- Part-time position available at the Rochester Civic Garden Center. Job requirements: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and database skills. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work independently. Please email resume to Christine Froehlich at rcgccf AT frontiernet DOT net.

Stock up!

GardenScape tickets are now available at all Wegmans "That's T.H.E. Ticket" locations!

I think you actually have to go to the physical location to buy tickets, and GardenScape isn't mentioned on the site as of today (1/10), but you can get more general info here. While you're at it, will you find out what "T.H.E." stands for? I can't read the tiny print. It's got the be the longest, most convoluted name for a grocery story department I've ever seen. Why not just "Tickets"? You know, like "Produce."

To buy tickets online, as mentioned below, go here.

Replacement Sought for GardenScape Pros' Bob Kretzer

Good for Bob and Marion, but this makes me sad...Salty Bob Kretzer is retiring, and the association is looking for someone to replace him. Yeah, good luck. This is a person that does so much that they've actually taken his (supposedly part-time, at one time anyway) job and divided it into two. Both are up for grabs! If you think you have what it takes to be the ED of the GardenScape Professionals Association (formerly known as the GFLNLA) OR the GardenScape Show manager, OR BOTH, check out the job descriptions here.
